Labeled
Chapter 10 By the year 2000, EMI Records had been pursuing Tooth and Nail to buy half of the company and was already doing its distribution. New genres were emerging, Tooth and Nail was moving offices and the staff was beginning to undergo major changes as well. Solid State Records was gaining momentum with acts like Living Sacrifice and Zao as heavy music was becoming more widely accepted. Roy Culver, who worked for EMI was hired and moved to Seattle to be the first Solid State employee and its A&R. Roy explains what the time of transition was like from his view and recounts stories of Solid State's successes and difficulties. https://labeledpodcast.com/ Support Labeled on Patreon Join Labeled on Facebook Watch Strange Her "The Scarlet Cord" at strangehermusic.com Roy Culver's Solid State Records Playlist on Spotify SONGS YOU HEARD ON THIS EPISODE: Living Sacrifice "Reborn Empowered" Living Sacrifice "Rejected" Zao "Kathleen Barbra" Norma Jean "Face" The Agony Scene "We Bury Our Dead at Dawn" Living Sacrifice "Imminent War" Stretch Arm Strong "For the Record" Eso-Charis "Born with a Future" Extol "Undeceived" Darkthrone "As Flittermice as Satans Spys" Selfmindead "Always" Norma Jean "Created Something out of Nothing, Only to Destroy" MORE FROM TOOTH & NAIL: * Labeled: Music From The Podcast: smarturl.it/labeledplaylist * DISCOVER IT: New Tracks from T&N Records: smarturl.it/TNNDiscover * This Is Solid State: New Tracks from Solid State Records: https://spoti.fi/2CUCsaH * Tooth & Nail Store (LABELED Patreon members get 20% off everything): tnn.lnk.to/store
